Tatu’s Birthday Bash

Today, Monday, we celebrated Tatu’s 37th birthday (although her actual birth date was Sunday, the 30th) with a fancy hand crafted party. Volunteers worked on handmade party decorations and puzzles in the days leading up to the party.  All of the tissue paper flowers were made by Brenda while RyAnn created a glittery, fabulous food puzzle.

When we greeted Tatu for breakfast we told her about the party and she was VERY excited, especially as she watched us prepare treat bags with meats, cheese, dates, and nuts. After a birthday breakfast of organic bananas, grapes, and pears the chimpanzees ran out into the party room for a day of relaxing fun.

Overall I think the party was a smashing success with Tatu enjoying her special treats and Loulis enjoying some play time with caregivers.
