The coming of the new year brings the opportunity for new adventures and new friends. This year, it also means saying goodbye. Andy G., who began as a summer apprentice here in 2008, has graduated (with honors!) from Central Washington University. Today is Andy’s last day volunteering as a chimpanzee caregiver for CHCI. I know that the chimpanzees’ lives have been made richer by their relationships with her. I too have been honored and privileged to call Andy a friend. I will always be inspired by her passion and intensity. Thank you, Andy, for all of your hard work and your dedication to those who cannot advocate on their own behalf. Congratulations on your success and may all our love and heartfelt wishes follow you wherever you go! HUG/LOVE

Graduated and made us cry;
When the winter days turned gray,
Andy Pandy went away.
